Russo’s Gluten-Free Gourmet is another great example of the companies and clients we love to support. By catering to consumers with gluten-free needs or celiac disease, Russo’s makes products that really do matter. Their brand represents healthful eating and inclusiveness—opportunities for everyone to dig in together—just like the quintessential Italian dinner table.
The Russo’s example is also a perfect case study in frozen food packaging. Plastic stand bags eliminate the packaging expense and environmental waste of double containment, such as cardboard casing around plastic-wrapped foods (what you typically see with frozen pizzas, waffles, and other novelty snacks). Meanwhile, pouch packaging is better equipped to preserve frozen food quality while blocking out freezer burn and freezer odors. So in the end, pizza in a pouch is not such a “pie” in the sky idea, after all.
Whatever you bring to market, now is a good time to rethink traditional modes of packaging—especially if you’re looking to gain access to major retail shelves or freezer cases. Because the big stores and their consumer masses prefer stand bag products… and who can blame them? Stand up pouches are recyclable, landfill-friendly, exponentially more durable than glass or cardboard, and incredibly lightweight. With spouted pouch options for liquid or perishable products and so many custom branding/design options (even for small orders), stand bags deserve a second look.
