Advantage of Cat Food Packaging vs. Tin

Cat Food PackagingTin or pouch? It is a dilemma that feline lovers often face. Each packaging method has its proponents. One party likes to think that there is nothing better than tin food, while the other proudly takes the side of cat food pouches. In this post we will try to come to a conclusion and see which packaging is better:

Food quality
Quality depends on manufacturers. It would be wrong to say only tin food is good, or only cat food pouches offer high quality food. You will have to consult a vet or supermarket employees to find out which manufacturers make high quality food for cats.

Food type
There is a crucial difference between the type of food tin and stand up pouches offer. Tin cans usually come with wet food, and pouches usually have dry food packaged inside. A recommended method to feed a cat is to give it a regular diet of dry food with occasional offerings of wet food to maintain a normal water level in its organs.

Cost
Tin cans are typically costlier than pouches. Also, while the dry food pouches last for days, wet tin food usually becomes inedible after merely two days of opening.
Pouch packaging is also a more flexible food packaging option. It's more environment-friendly and easier to store.
