Stand up bags are relatively new in the world of packaging. Although these bags are ubiquitous in Europe and Asia, their use in the United States is only starting to expand. This is because a stand up bag is essentially a plastic pouch. A similar argument can be made for transportation costs. A truck can transport several times more stand up bags in a single go than metal tins or glass and plastic jars.

Stand up bags have the minimum run in the packaging industry. This makes them affordable for small businesses, which can order as less as only 5000 pieces. The run for other packaging options is more, which can occasionally put a strain on the finances of a small business.
