Stand Up Pouches for Product Packaging

Food and Beverage Marketing + Stand Up Pouches

Over the past several months we've had the opportunity to address many aspects of both marketing and packaging of a wide variety of products including food/beverage, soaps, and pet products, among others.  We haven't so much learned new things as come to better understand some basic truths when it comes to packaging, all of which can be boiled down to one simple thing:  Marketing of packaged goods is, at the end of the day, about the package actually marketing the product.

Half of all retail product purchases aren't made until the moment the shopper stands in front of the shelf, faced with choices, usually with dozens of other things on his or her mind.  It is this very simple factor underlying food and beverage sales that should drive each and every marketing decision that relates to packaging.

If no amount of advertising or promotion has persuaded that consumer to make a decision before he or she walks down the store aisle, then clearly something else must.  And, as we've come to find out, that something is usually packaging.

For packaging to be effective, it must not only protect contents, it must tell the story of the contents it protects.  Every product has a tale to tell.  You have limited opportunity to tell it.   Packaging maximizes that opportunity.  Remember, your package must grab the attention of that undecided shopper (and not in a bad way!).

Stand up pouches are great for food and beverage marketing.  The construction design provides several ways in which your product can, in essence, sell itself by telling its own story.  The pouches have wide front and back panels on which you can affix your own labels.  If desired, you can order custom-printing (in up to 10 colors) of information about your product, your company, website links and even a QR code, all of which allow the product to basically speak for itself.

Also known as stand up bags, Mylar® barrier bags and custom printed stand bags, stand up pouches stand out because they stand up on the shelf.  Available hang holes (either round or sombrero-style) offer retailers another display option, one sure to catch the attention of shoppers.

Food and beverage marketing is hit and miss.  Your product either connects or it doesn't.  Stand up pouches allow your product to tell it's unique story and connect with consumers, making it the ideal packaging for food and beverages.
