An average American consumed 33.5 pounds of cheese in 2012, according to a report of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. The board projects per capita consumption to increase to 36.8 pounds in 2022. These statistics demonstrate the popularity of cheese in this country which is going to increase during this decade. Cheese companies are aware of this. They are looking for newer ways to woo more customers. One of the largest cheese sellers in the United States, Crystal Farms, has been using stand up pouches for this. The company sells its popular cheese in stand up bags.

Cheaper packaging has not apparently been the sole motive for Crystal Farms to move to pouch bags. The company proudly announces on its website that its newer stand up bags take up 20 per cent less packaging. This makes Crystal Farms cheese packets lighter, easier to use, and more environment friendly.

Crystal Farms is not the only seller to put its belief in stand up pouches. Hundreds of large and small cheese sellers in the United States have turned to stand up pouches for their economy of production, environmental friendliness, and user convenience. A large portion of cheese that hits store shelves each year comes packaged in stand up pouches. This portion is going to increase; just like the projected cheese consumption.
