What is worse than having to do piles of laundry?  It’s getting your laundry detergent in an over-packaged, thick plastic container!  Thankfully, manufacturers are clueing into the new and better method of detergent packaging.  

Originally, stand up bags were offered as a refill for existing plastic containers.  But soon, smart consumers realized they didn’t need to refill the big bottle, when they could just use the better choice right from the start!  With easy-pour spouts, these detergent bags are way simpler to use.  They’re less likely to slosh when they spill, and they’re not as heavy to hold.  

Just ask any woman who is doing the household laundry what she prefers.  Does she want to carry a bulky container to the laundry room?  No.  She wants flexible packaging that she can tuck into the laundry basket.  It doesn’t add much weight and it’s easier on her muscles.  Plus, when the pouch is empty, she can just roll it up and recycle it with other thin plastics like cling wrap and sandwich bags.

A lot of people are switching to energy-efficient washers and dryers, so it makes a lot of sense that they’re changing their attitudes about their detergents too.  It’s great news for the environment and the economy!
