Food Bags Better Known As Stand Up Bags

food bags using stand up pouchesFood packaging comes in several varieties, running the gamut from box and carton to bottle, can and canister. And, of course, bags. In fact, food bags are perhaps the most popular form of packaging due to their flexibility, versatility, convenience and the fact that so many bag types can now be produced in a manner that is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Take stand up bags, for example.

Stand up pouches, also known as Mylar® barrier bags and stand up pouches, consist of multiple layers of scientifically formulated film that have been laminated together. The resulting food bags will protect your product from vapor, moisture, odor, pests and pets. Combined with available zip lock closures, a stand up bag will seal in freshness, flavor and nutrition, thereby extending the "best by" date.

Stand up food bags are convenient. Standing up on the shelf, the bag will store conveniently and save space. Optional tear notches permit easy and mess free opening. And the zip lock closures already referred to are a very convenient and effective way to minimize spills.

Stand up bags also offer several ways to market your food products. First, because theyfood bags using stand up pouches stand up on the shelf, they stand apart from the competition in stores. Available hang holes (either round or sombrero-style) provide grocers and other retailers a second display option. The wide front and back panels of each pouch is ideal for your company labels or the direct application of printing customized to your exact specifications (and in up to 10 colors). If you prefer, you can mix the two features and even combine them with some clear film to better showcase those food products that look good while still in the package.

One additional feature sure to appeal to the eco-conscious consumer is that although stand up bags are made of multiple film layers, they actually require less material to make than most other plastic packaging bags and, as a result, ultimately generate less waste. Finally, most stand up bags are recyclable.
