Stand Up Pouches for Product Packaging

Food Product Branding With Stand Up Food Pouches

The concept of food product branding isn't something consumers give much, if any, thought to. For food producers and distributors, however, food product branding is an important component of any marketing campaign and, more importantly, overall commercial success. In fact, without food product branding, your chances of standing out in the marketplace are severely diminished, so much so that you might as well not even exist, especially when there is a great deal of competition. Establishing a strong market presence is, therefore, essential to generating a healthy bottom line. One often overlooked but very effective food product branding tool is product packaging and there may be no packaging more effective at branding your product line than a stand up food pouch.

A stand up food pouch, also known as a custom printed standup pouch, Mylar® barrier pouch and stand up bag, is made of multiple layers of food-grade, scientifically-formulated film that have been laminated together. This process creates a barrier food pouch that will protect your food products from vapor, odor, moisture, pests, light and/or air, depending on what the specific item requires. Strong and puncture-resistant, stand up food pouches will preserve the shelf life of your product line by sealing in freshness, flavor, and nutrition, especially if combined with the optional zip lock closure system (a feature, by the way, that also prevents spills).

Strong though they are, stand up food pouches are also flexible. This, and the fact that they stand up, allows for convenient storage in the kitchen cupboard, an RV pantry, a refrigerator/freezer, even a beach cooler, picnic basket or backpack. Optional tear notches permit easy, mess-free opening.

Stand up pouch food product branding is made possible by several factors. They stand up on the shelf and, therefore, stand apart from other, more traditional forms of food packaging. Round and sombrero-style hang holes offer grocers and other retailers a second display option.

Display options are also made available to you by the design of stand up pouches. Wide front and back panels accommodate product labels, custom printing, use of clear/translucent film as the pouch barrier, or any combination of these features.
