Due to environmental concerns, a large number of consumers worry about the type of packaging that is used for their food products. Because of these concerns, companies are forced to come up with green ideas for food and beverage packaging.

Stand up pouches are one of the most commonly used packaging solutions by companies in order to keep their food and beverages fresh and to meet the environmental demands of their consumers. Stand up bags are recyclable. One can simply throw them away in a recycle bin after using.  They can also be ground and used as fillers in other products like park benches and plastic lumber. This is because of several layers of barrier films in the pouch. In fact, most liquid packaging and food packaging pouches are made of material that is non-biodegradable.  

Finally, the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, are the essential pillars of green packaging. The most effective one is to reduce the amount of packaging used in food products.
