Stand up pouch bags have become famous for offering several benefits to manufacturers, traders, store owners, and customers. Simply put, stand up bags are made by laminating several barrier films together. Since it uses barrier films, it is sometimes called barrier packaging. These barrier films are either made up of plastic or an aluminum-plastic blend. After lamination, they are custom printed with labels, stickers, colors, designs, or logos to advertise and market the product. However, some stand up bags are left without any printing according to the clients’ orders. Our designers can also suggest creative design and color ideas for the pouch.

Once the sheets are ready, they are arranged in a continuous web and passed through plow sets to provide a W shape gusset at the bottom which will ensure that the pouch can stand up on the store shelves. If zip seal closure is a part of the pouch, it is attached to the inner face of the material, close to the top edge. Zippers are most popular because of the convenience they offer. Other accessories like spouts, hang holes, tear notches, etc. are also available depending on the need of the content and client orders.

The next step after forming the gusset is sealing of the sides of the pouch in the vertical direction. The zip lock is pressed to seal its extreme ends and to reduce the overall thickness. Now, the bottom folds are sealed along with the seals holding gusset together. The container body of the bag is formed by cutting the side seals through their center. The next step is filling of the pouches with the content provided by the client, or alternatively, the empty stand up bags are shipped to the client.

After filling the pouch with the content, it is sent to other manufacturing stations where the zip lock is closed and a seal is provided above the zipper. To facilitate the opening of the pouch, a notch is provided between the zipper and top seal. Once all these steps are complete, the pouch is ready to be shipped to the client. All this takes a few weeks and this is why it is a good idea to place the orders early.
