That's a great question.  Filling a stand up bag, also known as a stand up pouch, varies depending on the the product being packaged, how fast someone needs or wants to fill the pouches, and frankly how much they want to spend.  Many companies when they are first starting out fill pouches by hand, then they move up into a semi-automated process, and finally into a capital investment of really expensive equipment.

However, as the video explains, filling a stand up pouch does not need to be looked upon as a major stumbling block.  The Contract Packaging industry continues to grow and this has allowed many companies, as they grow, to graduate and move their filling of stand up bags to another company that they can manage.  Many contract packagers are certified to handle food, organic and even Kosher requirements.  Further, their equipment consistently is the highest quality available and are able to fill and seal stand up bags quickly and efficiently at a reasonable cost.
