Stand Up Pouches for Product Packaging

Improving Lead Times of Stand Up Pouch Bags

In the past, it seems that there has been some confusion regarding delays of re-orders on our pouch bags. To make sure that you have the facts, re-orders that don't require any new artwork have lead times of 6 to 7 weeks to reach your door. Lead times for new orders are about 8 weeks. A couple years ago, occasional delays seemed to be occurring because of a glitch that we discovered and subsequently resolved in 2012. This was related to new artwork being submitted and purchasing departments being unaware of how this increases lead times for the delivery of our flexible food packaging bags.

In cases where changes to artwork are made, this also changes the lead time for delivery because we can't proceed until our graphics department receives that new, approved artwork. Apparently, there were times when purchasing was unaware that new artwork was needed and therefore, still expected a lead time based on the original order. After figuring out what was going on, we made efforts to keep purchasing up to date on lead time changes that stem from new artwork. In addition, in late 2012, we started using a new transportation company that can ship our container right to our warehouse in Ohio. This saves time and reduces damage by avoiding the busy Los Angeles terminal, and being broken down in Cleveland, Ohio. This also allows our clients to have up to the minute tracking information on orders.
