Technology plays an ever-increasing role in our daily existence.  From electronics to automobiles, from advancement in medicine to food products, research and development departments constantly seek to make our lives easier, to make everything we deal with more convenient.   Some advancements are obvious and some involve products to which we hardly give a second thought, even when we use them.   An example?  Liquid packaging. 

Think of all the liquids that we drink or otherwise use.  Fruit juice, vegetable juice, wine and alcohol, cooking oils, sauces, salad dressing, beverage mixes, dairy products, syrups, honey, solvents, soap, detergent, oil and grease.  They are sold in bottles, bags, jars, jugs, cans and cartons. 

Spouted stand pouches, also called spouted stand up bags, function better than any other type of liquid packaging.  Spouted stand up pouches are made by laminating together multiple layers of barrier film. The make up of the layers vary, ranging from metalized film, foil, Mylar™, to super clear structures.  The final process protects bag contents from moisture, odor, vapor, light and, most importantly, puncture. 

Individually, the barrier films used in spouted stand up pouch liquid packaging aren’t sufficient to create a stable container; however, once they are laminated together they create the properties and strength necessary to stand  on a store shelf, thereby standing out from the competition.  This liquid packaging design creates wide face and back panels perfect for custom printing up to 10 colors.  Alternatively, product labels can be applied directly to the bags. 

There are several available pour spouts in any number of sizes and styles.  As always, rely on your spouted pouch supplier for guidance. 

Spouted stand pouch liquid packaging appeals to the 'green' consumer as well.  The pouches are recyclable, a factor those concerned about the planet consider most important.  Interestingly, however, lessening the impact on landfills has been found to be the most environmentally effective way to employ the "Three Rs" (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).  And stand up pouches take up very little room in landfills.
