How To Market Your Food Product Using Stand Up Bags

food marketing in stand up bagsMarketing your food product is probably as important as developing it. Similar to questioning whether a tree that falls in the forest makes a noise if no one is around to hear it, does a product have a market if no one is aware it exists? Obviously not, regardless of the quality of the product.

Of course, there's the issue of money. In today's economy, not only consumers are watching their budgets more closely. With margins shrinking, companies are under increasing pressure to cut costs and marketing budgets are among those areas usually put to the knife. That being said, however, doesn't mean you can't engage in effective marketing; it merely means you have to be a bit more creative.

One way to promote your food product lines without incurring any additional marketing expense is by integrating packaging into your efforts. Put another way, because you have to package your product anyway, you might as well put it to some additional good use.

Stand up pouches offer a great illustration of what we mean. Built from multiple layers of specially formulated film that have been laminated together, stand up pouches provide an ideal vessel for selling food products because they are durable, waterproof and puncture-resistant. Also known among as Mylar® stand bags, stand up bags and barrier bags, they keep vapor, odor and pests out and freshness, flavor, aroma and nutritional potency in.food marketing in printed stand bags

The marketing features of stand up pouches are the result of the unique bag design. First, the bag build permits the bags to stand up on the shelf, thereby standing apart from the competition. Round and sombrero-style hang holes permit retailers another display option.

Why is display so important? Consider this: By the time they get to a store shelf, more than half of all shoppers still haven't decided what product to buy. To make the most effective first impression on those folks, your package's appearance must immediately catch a shopper's eye.

Stand up pouches do just that. Wide front and back panels provide ample space for effective labeling or custom-printing in up to 10 colors. Text, graphics, even a QR code can be printed directly onto the barrier. Transparent film is available, permitting your food products to market themselves. Combining any or all of these options only serves to enhance the appearance of your brand on the shelf.

Stand up pouches: The best packaging for food and marketing.

Side note...very interesting article about a company here in Ohio using magnets as a way to seal packaging.  Kraft Foods has an exclusive for food packaging but I'll be interested to see if they capitalize on it's potential.
