Stand Up Pouches for Product Packaging

Measurement of Stand up Pouches

Of all the packaging options currently available, stand up pouches are one of the most eco friendly. It takes fewer resources to manufacture stand up pouches than bottles, cans, and other packaging methods of the same capacity. They can be used for flour packaging, coffee packaging, detergent packaging and many other products.

These pouches are also more business friendly. They provide a large surface area for printing which can be used for brand making (advertising). In fact building a brand becomes easy and effective through custom design stand up pouches. The surface area on these pouches is sufficiently large to hold product information and other relevant data.

Stand up pouches have curvy ends when packaged. This non-Euclidean form gives the impression of a hard-to-measure packaging method. This is not true as stand up pouches are easy to fill, easy to use, easy to empty, and equally easy to measure.

To measure the length of a stand up pouch, you have to put it lengthwise and parallel to a ruler, and read the corresponding number on the scale. The length does not include the spout. Similarly the bottom gusset area can be measured by putting a ruler (or a tape) along the widest point there. To measure the width, you can put a ruler perpendicular to the length somewhere near the center of the pouch.
