Stand up bags and pouches are made by laminating together multiple layers of scientifically formulated (and, if necessary, food-grade) film, a process which creates a barrier that protects contents from (as needed) vapor, moisture, odor, light, air and/or pests. Stable, strong and puncture-resistant, stand up bags and pouches seal in freshness, flavor, aroma, nutrition and/or chemical strength (again, as needed), especially if you incorporate the available combination of pour spouts and resealable caps.
Stand up bags and pouches (also known as custom stand bags and Mylar® barrier pouches) are more environmentally friendly than most other packaging bags. While made from multiple film layers, they require less material to make than those other bags (up to 12 percent less). Less material results in less waste after disposal and also less weight which reduces the amount of fuel consumed during transportation. Stand up bags/pouches are a complete, self-contained form of packaging, so they require no inner liner or outer container to function effectively. This absence of additional material eliminates consumption of the energy normally required to manufacture, transport, store and dispose of extra packaging.
