Printed Stand Up Packaging For Food Products

printed stand up packaging, protein powder packaging, food packaging, stand up bagsThe beauty of stand up bags, also known as stand bags or stand up pouches, is their ability to package any number of food related products.  Initially these stand pouches were used to package basic dry goods such as spices and ingredients.  It was a natural fit as the weight of the product forced the bottom gusset of the pouch to open completely and worked in unison with the pouch structure so it would stand erect on a store shelf.  The development of different barrier films has evolved over the past 5 years which has increased the effectiveness for the stand bags to package a growing number of other items as well.  Let’s look at some of these items now.

Printed Stand Up Pouches For:

  • Salad Dressing, Sauces and Soups
  • Flour and Grains
  • Cereal and Granola
  • Snacks, Cookies and Crackers
  • Fruits, Nuts and Vegetables
  • Meat, Cheese, Jerky
  • Candy and Chocolate

Printed stand up bags are made from different layers of barrier stand bags for chili seasoning, stand up food packaging, printed stand bags, printed stand up bagsfilm that when laminated together form barrier properties that will keep the contents fresher for longer while providing ample space on the front and back of the stand bag for custom printing which will help companies position themselves on store shelves and build their brand as well.  In coming posts we’ll look even deeper into these particular food categories for the subtle and obvious advantages that packaging in printed stand bags provides.

On a side note, there was a recent article CLICK HERE regarding the usage of rigid plastic containers which is on the rise in North America.  While that’s great for those suppliers of 5 gallon, 10 gallon, and 55 gallon plastic pails and drums, it doesn’t really help our environment.  Studies have shown that the most effective way to help our environment (as it relates to the 3 Rs, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) is reduction by a landslide.  Many companies are looking to flexible packaging such as stand up bags as a way to reduce the need for rigid containers.  The pouches are strong and durable of course but they also are made with 75% less plastic than rigid containers, they ship and store flat which reduces the amount of fuel needed to transport them and they take up a fraction of the space of rigid drums and pails.  More on the environmental impact of stand bags later, but in the meantime here is the article about the usage of rigid plastics in North America.
