Soap manufacturers began the trend, and now it’s catching on like wildfire.  The initial reason for the change in soap packaging was to create less waste and thereby save consumers a buck or two.  Why buy a large, clunky, thick plastic container when you could get a thin plastic replacement bag for much less?  Now, people have realized it’s the best practice, solving the problem of containing and packaging most consumer goods in our world.

Stand up bags are the way of the future.  They sit nicely on the store shelf and travel well on trucks, boats and trains.  They are light, easy-to-carry and flexible.  They can be vacuum-packed or loose, spouted or zipper-sealed.  They come in large, medium, small and extra small sizes.  Along with all those benefits of convenience and versatility, they are way better for the environment!

Think about how many packages of dry food, detergent, herbs, spices, flours, cereals, juices and health food supplements can be stuffed into a container ship or truck!  Being malleable and soft, yet resistant to punctures, huge numbers of can be transported at a fraction of the cost.  And instead of the massive volume of rigid plastic, there is just a relatively tiny amount of recyclable waste.
