The multiple layers in spouted pouches are laminated together to form a kind of barrier packaging. This is the reason why alcohol and wine can be kept fresh for a longer duration in such pouches. Foil pouches are not successful here because they use a single layer of film, while alcohol requires a strong package. It can otherwise get spoiled due to light and dust etc. Also, these pouches stand easily on the shelf and save a lot of storage space.

Small packaging of alcohol can be done in pouches. These pouches can be made using various types of films. There are many materials that can be used such as foil, Mylar, metalized film, and clear structure. Clear structure pouches look more appealing because of their transparency.

They also help protect the environment.  While bottles are made of glass and are thus harmful for the environment, pouches are lightweight and do not cause much harm. Plus, they can be recycled and regenerated. Since the pouches weigh almost twenty times less than a bottle, they do not add to the landfill as much as a bottle does.
