Liquids have special requirements for packaging because they have to stay fresh and odorless for a long time on the supermarket shelves.  This is why special types of standup bags called spouted pouches are used for liquid packaging. There are different types of spouts so you must choose wisely, depending on your needs.

If you want to get the right type of spouted pouch, you need to take the product into consideration. There are different pouches depending upon if you have to package a liquid or a liquid mix. If it’s a liquid, the spout can be on the corner of the pouch like a juice pouch. Also, depending upon the material to be packaged, there are different methods to fill the pouch. One way is to fill in the liquid through the spout itself, and then seal it with a cap. Another way is to fill the package through the void made at the top of the pouch and then seal it.

Another style of spouted pouches is one that comes with a perforated corner which is styled as a spout.  The product can be filled in through the top and to pour out the contents, the consumer has to cut through the perforated area. These types of pouches are for a single time use.
