Stand Up Pouches

After quality and price, the factor that most determines product success is "packaging" (both physical and how the product is marketed). No matter how well made your products are, no matter how reasonably priced, customer satisfaction will be fleeting if your product packaging does not provide at least the minimum performance features consumers expect. Stand up pouches are perhaps the most effective form of packaging available for a wide variety of food or other retail products (and especially those that have an expiry date).

Stand up pouches are made from multiple layers of special film which have been laminated together. Interestingly, although each pouch consists of those multiple layers, it actually requires less material to make stand up pouches than most other plastic or foil packaging bags (up to 12 percent less). That said, the pouch barrier will protect contents from any or all of the following:

• Vapor
• Odor
• Moisture
• Pests
• Pets
• Light
• Air

The pouch barrier also seals in freshness, flavor and nutritional/chemical potency, again depending on what the product is. For dry goods, optional zip lock closures not only preserve the shelf life but also prevents spills. For liquid products, pour spouts and resealable caps perform the same functions.

Stand up pouches stand up on the shelf. As a result, your brand will stand apart from the competition. For certain products, round and sombrero-style hang holes can also be ordered. You can affix your company labels or order the direct application of custom printing (in up to 10 colors) on the wide front and back pouch panels. Clear film is also available and any combination of these features is possible.

Convenience is a hallmark of a stand up pouch. Because it stands up, it stores conveniently and saves shelf space in the garage, closet, kitchen or refrigerator/freezer. Optional tear notches make opening the pouches very easy. Even gas release valves are available.
