Every now and then I see an article that is perfect for helping explain the benefits of using stand up pouches, also known as stand bags or stand up bags.  In his article "Packaging Sells The Product" Jack Gordon does and awesome job of explaining the needs for proper packaging, how to connect with the consumer on an emotional level, etc.  His points are right on.

As I interpret the article I cannot help but think about stand up pouches, custom printed stand up pouches to be exact.  We hear from companies almost daily how they have the best oatmeal or flax seed or herbal tea, etc, and frankly we believe them, as their products are incredible.  The one thing they don't have is the ability to show the world, the deep pockets it takes to get their product on a store shelf and compete on their product's merits alone.

Their oatmeal may be the best ever, their flax seed may be proven to lower cholesterol faster than any other flax seed, but without the proper packaging, they'll never get a chance.  Just the other day a client told us they were at a trade show and only had a handful of their new printed stand up bags while the majority of their product was in their old style pouch with a label.  Side-by-side people chose the custom printed stand bag over and over again until they were completely gone.  What does that tell you?  Packaging sells the product.  See pictures I used for this post.  One is a stand up bag with a label and the other is custom printed.  Can you tell the difference?  Which would you most likely to buy?

Here's the good news.  Due to recent advancements, it is now possible to custom print stand bags with quantity as low as 5000 pieces.  Not 500,000 pieces or even 50,000, just 5000 pieces in the same bold, dynamic, photographic quality the big boys have.  Better yet, the laminated film structures will be as good as if not better than anything on the store shelves today!

Come on, you said all you ever wanted was a chance, a chance to put your product next to the giant's product and let the customer decide.  With custom printed stand up pouches the playing field has been leveled.  Go get 'em!
