Flexographic printing is a traditional printing technique that has become better over the years. This technique now prints bolder colors and more complicated designs than before. Flexographic printing goes back to the late 1800s, when it was first used. It uses a flexible relief plate. It can be considered as a modern version of the ancient letterpress, and can be used on various materials like plastic, foil, paper, cellophane, and metalized films. It is widely used for printing on non-porous substrate materials for food packaging purposes. It can be used on all types of pouches like small coffee bags and foil pouches.

 

Flexographic printing is done using a rubber plate that is mounted on a roller. The roller is coated with ink. When it rolls, it prints the ink patterns on the film. The film is then dried and laminated on other films.

 

This printing has come a long way and has been made better over the years, but is still unable to compete against better and more economic options like rotogravure.
